7. Play again, fail better.

The exploration of play seems to me the best way to initiate this expansion of our own perceptive world. The language we have integrated—symbolically and conceptually—is too often not the source of our own experience. It's a synthesis of an etymological history that has founded words based on interests we may no longer share. Let's say we have appropriated these elements for convenience. Then we face the implicit limits of these, the concepts and reasoning with which we identify daily without being able or wanting to detach from them.

Expanding these worlds is an essential commitment to finding more sensitive states.

Aristotle spoke of *potentia* ($$δυ´ναμις$$), a synonym for potentiality, in opposition to what is active. Potential is, therefore, what has not yet been realized, what is only virtuality, ready to hatch. The tree is in potential in the seed, potential in my body. It only remains to discover the potentials that each human being hides, their needs, and the necessary environment to germinate in the present.

The act (*energeia*: $$ἐνέργεια$$) is realization, what gives shape to the world. Play, as a search, as permission, both clumsy and mastered, is the most natural means that exists to actualize our potentials. Our innate curiosity is an impulse, an improvisation that guides the present, that pushes us to seek the limits of our own world and to test them. There are so many humans, big and small, who have forgotten how to play, who await validation, permission, or approval from the outside. The reproduction of normative schemes prevents an infinite number of becomings, like a cooking recipe reproduced without understanding the coherence of the gestures. "They diligently apply the recipes that have been recommended to them or that a certain doctrine they have adopted teaches. They progress very little in self-knowledge because, believing they know what they should do, they are not curious and do not observe."

Not to forget: **Potentials are activated in action.**
