8. Art is passing through.
I conceive of art as the stimulus that triggers, passes through, and sets an idea in motion. It resonates as it passes and is the one thing that cannot be mastered or tamed by human beings; an impulse to which we must put ourselves in service; a wind to dance with, follow its rhythm, and observe its traces with perplexity, or else ignore them.
Art is what measures the **state of the senses** that resonate in our bodies; it is the human link with nature, because it is born from the observation of it, both external and internal.
Art is not found in the representation of a figure; it is more raw and more subtle, more precise than a good gesture; it is what animates it and what stops it, it is what overflows the figure, a stimulus that triggers the gesture that traces, and that makes the body vibrate when we discover its trace, its presence. It is the means by which we play and build our dialogue with chance.
In a state of trance it causes catharsis, it makes our sensitivity resonate, it guides us by intuition and expresses itself through technique; inseparable from the human being, it has accompanied us since the dawn of time and, by listening to the silence, it surprises us.
Not to forget: Art is the only thing we have left of nature.
